Posted on September 11, 2019February 8, 2021 by Abu Hajar

Here you can find articles about the consequences of sinning and disobedience towards Allah the Exalted, and some of the traps that the Shaytan may be able to lure the Muslim into without him being aware of this. All in the light of the Quran and Sunnah.

Al-Quran

“Ha-Mim. A revelation from Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim. A Book which have been explained in details; an Arabic Quran for a people who have knowledge. A bearer of good news and a warner, but most of them turn away and they do not hear.” (Fussilat 41:1-4)

The Quran is the Word of Allah which He revealed to Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) by way of Jibril (‘alayhis-salam). In it Allah explained everything in detail and with it He – the Exalted – established the argument upon the creation. Whomever the Quran has reached, then the argument has been established upon him and he has no excuse for meeting Allah upon something else than Tawhid and Sunnah.

The Sunnah

The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“I have verily left you with two things after which you will never go astray; The Book of Allāh and My Sunnah”  (Al-Hākim in his Mustadrak)

The Sunnah are the words, deeds and traditions of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). It is the interpretation of the Quran, and it is the only correct way of understanding the Quran and reaching to its desired intent. Whoever deviates from the Sunnah or interprets the Quran according to something else than the Sunnah has inevitabel fallen into innovation for which he has no excuse. Furthermore the sayings and the beliefs of the Sahabah are a part of the Sunnah.

The understanding of the Salaf

“And the first forerunners (in īmān) among the Muhājirīn and the Ansār and those who followed them in goodness. Allāh is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.” (At-Tawbah 9:100)

The understanding of the Salaf in Islam is considered the compass for determining whether or not something is either correct and the truth, or it is wrong and falsehood. The Salaf are the three praised generations by the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), namely the Sahabah, the tabi’un and the tabi’ tabi’in. So whoever wants to be safe against misguidance, he must measure his beliefs against those of the Salaf  because only they were given the stamp of approval by Allah and His Messenger.
